Building SpriteDeck: Making AI Work Visible

Why I am exploring a calmer way to organize AI work around clear roles, shared structure, and a visible history.

Working with several AI tools can start to feel strangely invisible. A prompt goes into one window, a result appears somewhere else, and before long I am trying to remember what ran, why it ran, and where the useful work ended up.

I started SpriteDeck to explore a more organized approach. I wanted AI work to feel less like a pile of disconnected conversations and more like directing a small team: each role has a purpose, work has a clear destination, and I can see what happened afterward.

Structure before prompts

The central idea is to begin with the shape of the work. In SpriteDeck, I can arrange departments, define roles within them, and connect those roles to persistent Sprite machines. Instead of starting every session from a blank chat, I can choose the role that should handle a job and give it a focused request.

That small amount of structure changes how I think about the interaction. A research task belongs with one role; an operational task belongs with another. I still set the direction and judge the result, but I no longer have to hold the entire organization in my head.

A record I can return to

Visibility matters just as much as organization. The current dashboard brings recent jobs, role status, setup blockers, and activity into one place. Job conversations stay connected to their roles, while the activity view makes earlier runs easier to find and inspect.

I like that this turns AI work into something I can revisit. The history is not proof that every result was good, but it gives me a clearer trail for reviewing what was asked, what came back, and what needs another pass.

Where SpriteDeck is today

SpriteDeck is an active early product and working prototype, not a finished platform. The current version supports the core loop of organizing departments and roles, attaching a Sprite machine, dispatching a job, following its output, and reviewing prior activity.

There is still a lot to learn about how this model should grow. Team permissions, billing and usage metering, and a complete audit trail are not finished product capabilities. I am deliberately keeping those boundaries visible rather than describing the prototype as an enterprise system.

What already feels promising is the change in perspective. SpriteDeck gives AI work a place, a role, and a history. For me, that makes it easier to direct thoughtfully—and much harder for useful work to disappear into another chat window.
